The Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation has a charter to support research in issues that cross sectors. It is developing a case for expanded investment in support of Indigenous need. Three key themes are under consideration; 1. Blending science and traditional land management practice with training and leadership to assist maintain culture, self esteem and motivation, 2. Research to enable greater efficiencies in existing industries, investments in new enterprises, development and application of appropriate new technologies, and disseminating research results and 3. Innovation that enables land, wildlife, natural resource management and rural enterprises to play a larger role in creating employment opportunities and self sufficiency. We seek feedback on these and other ideas.
