Indigenous Futures through Indigenous Training Teams
Tammy and Lachlan represent two Indigenous success stories. From typical Aboriginal backgrounds, they have succeeded in becoming key players in guiding the Centre for Appropriate Technology’s Technical Skills Group towards a vision: Indigenous learners trained and supported by Indigenous staff, as a model for desert delivery. By reflecting on their personal progress against the odds, and through liaison with Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders, they have helped develop a model of best practice for Indigenous training delivery. They will present ideas on how this model is being gradually put into practice by CAT's Technical Skills Group training team in central Australia.
