What we didn’t anticipate how much community development had to be a critical element in our research emphasis.
It is not so much a matter of developing skills in a two way process with Aboriginal people as about becoming a trusted community partner and friend.
We are all still learning how to work with desert Aboriginal NGOs, communities and people and to develop the relationships and trust that help us share knowledge and work together.
