Desert education and training networks: A model for success

  • Alicia Boyle, Desert Knowledge CRC/Charles Darwin University, Australia
  • The Central Australian Education and Training Network (CAETN) has been operating for over three years and has over 100 members from three jurisdictions whose common purpose is to 'talk and work together' to improve demand responsive vocational education and training for Aboriginal desert people.
This presentation will outline the key features and attributes of this network that works and why. Examples of the 'network at work' will be highlighted to showcase the possibilities that arise from this form of collaboration. With many common contexts and issues, replication of such a network is possible across desert regions.
