  • A current Desert Knowledge CRC project, researching sustainability in desert settlements, has identified communities where Aboriginal and non Aboriginal people are sharing in the productive life, wealth and well being of the community, where everyone has a job, all children go to school, all people access healthcare, all people are comfortably housed, and social problems are minimal. This paper examines the sources of such achievement and what other communities can learn from it.
