Central Australian science teachers created a Professional Learning Community to explore ways to encourage the development of science learning in Central Australia. An ASISTM grant was the vehicle used to bring Genes on the go, CSIRO, Microscopes on the Move, Lego Robotics and Science Engineering Challenge to Alice.

All secondary and most primary schools, including Tennant Creek, participated in the program.

Each activity had interactive public sessions which were well attended by the wider community and helped to promote science.

Outcomes included production of context specific curriculum resources, teacher professional learning and the dispelling of popular myths about studying science.
