Ring!! Ring!!
This paper outlines the complexities associated with governance and societies in remote Aboriginal communities in Central Australia. It attempts to “decomplex” or simplify some of these identified complexities and differentiate between truisms and widespread perceptions about Indigenous governance and societies. It highlights major influences affecting quality service and successful outcomes in remote communities. Several strategies, hard hitting at times, but with a number of humorous, Ring!! Ring!! case studies addresses some of these complexities. It has been compiled through personal experience, observations and participation in inter-cultural meetings, forums and readings over a number of decades.
